RTX ON
Nvidia / Zotac Gaming
For this short promo, we partnered with Nvidia and Zotac Gaming to show off the visual magic of ray tracing on the GeForce RTX 2080. Instead of running benchmarks and rattling off specs, we opted for something more relatable: a world without RTX is simply dull and lifeless.
We crafted a purely visual narrative with no dialogue, to contrast the pre and post upgrade lives of Tommy and Adam. Before RTX, their world is muted, uninspired, and a bit tragic. Then the upgrade arrives, and everything changes: warm tones, punchy colours, slow motion pineapple shaking and just enough smugness to sell the transformation.
To make this concept land, we shot key scenes twice, matching composition, movement and framing as close as possible. Slider shots, set dressing and stylistic lighting changes, this was one of our most technically meticulous shoots to date (and one of the most satisfying to pull off).
The video required some in game play footage, so we delivered the final product in 60fps. It’s a subtle flex on what ray tracing can do, with a side of cinematic flair. And honestly, how good does Adam look in a tux?
MATCHING THE SHOTS
Although they weren’t to be shown side by side in the final video, we were still very keen for the shots to match as much as possible. We noted the action, framing, tripod height, slider movement, focal length, everything! Then once the scene was redressed and relit, we went again.
